Description
The lakeshore in front of the old Tracy estate is highly historic. In 1860, when the Prince of Wales visited Cobourg, he stayed a few hours at the residence, then owned by the Hon. Sidney Smith. In the background is a site long popular for Sunday School picnics and as the annual camp of a band of gypsies. Pictured in the foreground Edwin C. Guillet.
Notes
Till the 1950s one could still identify the Duck Harbour ballast line over which gravel was hauled for the re-ballasting of the Grand Trunk Railway in 1887.
