The house was built by either father or son. Both were named Joseph Arundel Philp and they arrived from England in 1832. They were both plasters. The mother was Eleanor nee Winn (1805-1852) from Sevenoaks, Kent, England. Joseph Snr died 1865. Joseph Jnr lived 1826-1911)
