Notes

This picture was most likely taken during the June session of 1919. The Council were happy to display their Victory Loan Honor Flag. These flags were issued by Canada's Victory Loan Commitee in co-operation with the Minister of Finance of the Dominion of Canada. Each town, village and city earned an honor flag and then depending on how much of the quota was met would then determine the number of crowns that appeared on the flag itself. On November 1, 1918 the Victory Loan Campaign in Northumberland County had returns totally $247,300.00 and Durham had $161,000.00
