Miss Lynette Thain Is Killed In Car Accident Near Madoc

Miss Lynnette Thain of Warkworth passed away in Kingston General Hospital on Friday, February 2nd from injuries received in a car-truck collision on Highway 7 on' Saturday evening.


Miss Thain was a passenger in the car driven by Glen Martin Deline of Marmora, which collided with a sand truck which was sanding the highway. She was taken to Belleville General Hospital and later transferred to Kingston Genera. Mr. Deline also received chest injuries and a fractured leg.


Lynnette, who is 19, was a second, year student nurse at Peterborough Civic Hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Thain of Warkworth.


Also surviving her are one sister, Sharon and three brothers Russell, Paul and Jamie.


Miss Thain had received her education at the old Warkworth Public School and Campbellford District High School.


She rested at the Allen Funeral Home in Warkworth until the time of the funeral which was held on Wednesday, February 24th at 3:00 p.m. Rev. J. A. Neilson officiated at the service.


Interment was in Warkworth Cemetery. and the pallbearers were Peter Allen, Bob Johnston, Ken Wragg, Dennis Russell, Wayne Young and Ted Thompson.
