Ancient town clock

According to a Port Hope clock and watch expert and repairman, the town hall clock on top of Victoria Hall, and depicted on the Sentinel-Star banner, is older than the clock in Westminster Abby, London, England.

The clock was imported from England back in the 1800’s.

Town council received a letter Monday night from a representative of a clock and watch association asking if the town would consider giving the clock to a time-piece museum.

There was no discussion of the letter and the matter was referred to the Public Buildings committee to be dealt with.
