Cobourg Victoria Hall Ontario
A Grand Ballroom decorated in ornate Victorian style. It was the social centre of nineteenth century Cobourg where the Prince of Wales danced until dawn during his visit here in 1860. It has now been beautifully restored and it is available for public dances and private functions. There are bar facilities as well as controlled lighting and amplification systems.
3600 sq. feet of floor space provides adequate room for a variety of commercial and public events. The hall is suitable for conventions, exhibitions, displays, seminars, trade-shows and work-shops. It is equipped to handle everything from fashion shows to festivals. A reception lounge, coffee bar, private dining and meeting rooms are also available for rent. There is ample parking nearby.
An elegant Theatre and performance space seating up to 250. Amateurs and professionals have performed here since the middle of the last century making it the cultural centre of the region. It is now equipped with flexible stage and seating units, modern theatre lighting, audio equipment, dressing rooms, dance stupid and rehearsal space. The Hall has been restored to retain its acoustical quality and can now accommodate everything from solo recitals to major musicals. It is available on a rental basis.
A Banquet Hall where up to 400 guests can enjoy a buffet reception and over 200 people can dine surrounded by Victorian grandeur. It provides a unique setting for all catered events such as annual dinners, private parties, wedding receptions etc. Banquet tables, bar tables, tablecloths, wine glasses and piano are all supplied. The Hall is air-conditioned.
The Concert Hall is a vital part of Victoria Hall, a fully restored architectural gem. The magnificent building has received the National Award of Merit from Heritage Canada. The Hall is situated on Heritage Highway 2 in the heart of downtown Cobourg, close to the lakeshore, marina, and shopping. There is easy access from the 401 at either Exit 472 (Burnham St.) or Exit 474 (Division St.)
