- On Monday November 3, the first bulk railroad car of Dominion Crystal Sugar shipped from the Chatham Plant of Canada and Dominion Sugar Co. Ltd. was delivered to the Cobourg Plant of Genral Foods, Limited. Frank Smallman, C. & D.'s Tornto District Sales Manager was on hand to officially turn over the 120,000 pound cargo of granulated sugar to Dick Parker, Plant Manager of General Food's modern food plant at Cobourg. Canada and Dominion Sugar was able to deliver granulated sugar in bulk to the industrial customers in Ontario.
