- Plowmen Will Use Implements Made In Own Countries
Each of the plowmen partic- ipating in the World's Plowing Match will use plows manufact- ured in their own countries ac- cording to the rules, it has been disclosed recently.
Tractors made in their own countries will be used by the competitors also according to the rules.
Tractor and plow equipment from overseas was shipped to Canada early in August so that the visitors will be able to com- ply with the rules.
It has also been disclosed that this year's championship match may be the last held in Canada for some years since it is the in- tention of the promoters to hold it in a different country each year and Canada's turn might be a long time coming again.
This means that a signal honor has come to Cobourg never be- fore given to any other town in Canada.
It also means that Cobourg will have the honor of being the first site of the World's Plowing Match, something that no other town or city can claim.
In an announcement of the above facts the World Plowing Match Association points out that good and careful cultivat- ion of the soil is brought vividly into focus. The primary pur- pose behind the World Match is to improve the general high standard of plowing on the farms, throughout the world, which, in the end, will contribute to greater food production.
