- Will Crown Champion Plowman Of World At Tomorrow's Match
The overseas and North Am- rerican plowmen will start com- petition today for the World's Championship Plowing Organiza- tion's title. This competition will consist of stubble plowing. To- morrow, Friday, the sod or grass- land competition will take place.
On these two competitions will be determined the champion plow- man of the world. He will be crowned at a monster banquet tomorrow night. This is the first time in history anywhere a world's champion plowman will be named. There have been other plowing titles, won in different countries, since the inception of the idea just after the turn of the century but no one and no organization ever before has dared named a champion of the universe. The competition here may be the last in Canada for half a century or more since the title will be competed for in diff- arent countries every year and Canada's first chance may be difficult to achieve again. There will be many competit- ions on the grounds during these next two days but none will be more closely watched or contest- ed for than the World's title.
How many entries are planning to plough is not yet known but at least a dozen flags will be represented when the match gets under way today.
