- Trinity Church was originally Methodist and dates back to November 28, 1824 when a new Wesleyan Methodist Church was built at the corner of Division and Chapel streets. Previous to this the Methodists had a church at Hulls Corners. In 1852 the original frame church had been enlarged many times so a new larger brick church was built. From 1836 to 1892 it was known as The College Church for the professors and students of Upper Canda Academy (Victoria University) made it their home church.
