Great article...we live in this house, and are researching it's history. Very useful information, loved the look before the verandah was removed. Anyone who has more information regarding this house or Leopold Kobald and family would be greatly appreciated.
Leopold Kobold was my great-great-grandfather. I have done some research on the family and have a few pictures if you are still interested. If you google 'memorable Manitobans' you will find Leopold and 2 of his sons.
In the 1960's it was I believe occupied by the Boucherie family and they had strawberry fields out back, you could pick your own or buy ready picked. I may have the spelling incorrect on the family name but it was pronounced as the French spoke it.
