WRIGHT, Douglas Bowell - Passed away

peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April

18th, 2007 at the Northumberland Hills

Hospital, Cobourg in his 80th year. Beloved

and loving husband for 57 years of Isabel

McCulloch. Loving father of Stephen, Nancy

Carefoote (David), Gordon (Natalie) and

Brenda Cunningham (Jeff). Loving

grandfather of Erin Labrecque (Mike), Rob

Carefoote, Kelly Carefoote, Jason Wright,

Jeffrey Wright and Daniel Campo. Doug

was thrilled with the recent arrival of his twin

great grandchildren Brennan and Alexis

Labrecque. Sadly missed by his brother Len

(Shirley) of Barrie and sister-in-law Margaret

Allen of Victoria, B.C. and fondly

remembered by many nieces, nephews,

relatives and friends. Doug worked as a

lineman/troubleman for Toronto Hydro for 34

years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, he

and Isabel embarked on a new career

producing maple syrup. Over the years,

Doug was heavily involved in the Port Hope

Fall Fair Board, the Port Hope Rotary Club,

Port Hope PROBUS and the planning and

building of the new Baltimore Recreation

Centre. Visitation will be held at the ROSS

FUNERAL CHAPEL, 135 Walton St., Port

Hope, Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

Service will be held in the Chapel, Saturday,

April 21st at 11 a.m. Interment Mount

Pleasant Cemetery on Monday, April 23rd

at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial

donations to Baltimore Recreation Centre or

the Rotary Club of Port Hope would be
