It’s not as if I don’t think of you every day but

this day today,

means you will be gone two very long years

and just as it was the day you were gone,

it still just doesn’t seem real.

I wait for this lump to leave my throat but just

as so many others who have lost loved

ones, they say it never really goes away.

My only comfort is that someday I’ll see you
