Fricker, Adjudicator Northumberland Music Festival Dr. H. A. Fricker, BA„ Muse. Doc, F.R.C.O., conductor, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and one of the leading authorities on music in Canada, has been secured as adjudicator at the Nbrthumiberand Music Festival to be held at the United Church, Colborne, on May 18th, 19th and 20th. The festival executive have been most fortunate in securing the services of Dr. Fricker and feel that constructive criticisms of such an eminent musician will be of untold value to all contestants and of great interest to the spectators. Dr. Fricker has had a long and successful career in Music, as leader of the Tornto Mendelssohn Choir and as organizer and conductor of several famous choruses at the Canadian National Exhibition. Dr. Fricker's fame has reached all parts of Canada and United States and his work is also known and appreciated in Music Circles in Europe. The Music Festival has been increased fromi IT to 27 classes this year and an even greater entry than last year is anticipated. Entries close April 15th. The dates set fo,r the meetings are June 15th, 16th and 17th, 1938, and plans are underway for a busy three days. It is expected that workers in the promotion of improved seed production from coast to coast will be in attendance. Officers coming from the west will include the President, Mr. F.W. Townley-S'mith, Lashburn, Sask., and the Vice-President. Mr. F. L. Dickinson, from Winnipeg, Man. The Secretary-Treasurer of the Association is Mt. W. T. G. Wiener, Ottawa, Ontario. During 1937, the number of pure ed livestock registered with the Canadian National Live Stock Records, approved by the Dominion Minister of Agriculture, was 79,303.
