Dunnett On Monday evening, September 19, 1938, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carson Huibbs, Picton, Ontario, Mr. Wallace Llewellyn Dunnett passed to his well-earned rest in the Great Beyond. The getting of his sun was with the setting of the sun and peaceful. Born and reared in the Colborne district, he lived his entire life at his Dundonald home until some two years ago, when he went to live with his daughter. He was a devout churchman. His life was the kind life, the upright life, a life in which there was much service for others a life which brought and will hold admiration from his fellowman. To know him was to be a better man. The unfortunate young man, in company with four others, was returning home from his work of bridge building, when they were struck by a truck coming out of a side road, and three of them were killed. Besides his parents. Mr. Mc-Coll leaves a widow and littde daughter. Belleville Man Burned Alive Truck Upsets -- Catches Fire Believed to have become excited by the approach of a train at the railway crossing east of Cobourg shortly before noon Monday, Oct. 8, 1938, after successfully crossing the tracks, the tractor and trailer owned by the Canada Transport Co., Belleville, and driven by Ewart Hannah, 28, of Belleville, went out of control and turned over in the south ditch, catching fire and burning the driver to death before he oould be extricat-ted from the wreckage. Harry Mc-Creary, son of the owner of the transport, who was accompanying Hannah, escaped the raging inferno. Robert Bruce Redcliff The sudden death of Mr. Robert Bruce Redcliff, in his 50th year, a great shock to his many friends and acquaintances. He was attending to his duties on the farm of W, A. Fraser, M.P., in Murrav Township, and was in the barn when he dropped to the floor and expired in a ' Up to the time of going to M Fraser's, last spring, deceased was fc several years a respected resident of Colborne. He leaves his wife, a son, Reynard of Colborne, and two daughters, Mrs, Mary Straughan of Pickering and Mrs. Mabel Lane of Castleton. The funeral sevices were held in the United Church, Salem, Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Roy H. Rickard. ' Interment followed in the Salem Cemetery. Satisfied With New Business Mr. E. W. Read condensed ads on page 5. Harvest Thanksgiving Service at Trinity Church The services at Trinity Anglican Church. Colborne, on Sunday, October 2nd, 1938, were impressive and hearty. The interior of the Church was artistically and attractively decorated with flowers, grain, fruits and vegetables. Many worshippers were present at the several services, which were conducted by the Rector, Rev. P.W.A. Roberts, Rural Dean. In his sermons the Rector impress-eed upon his hearers that they always have many things to thank God for, but especially from their hearts thank Him not only for the bountiful harvest, but for the recent deliverance from war and the settlement of disputed matters upon a peace basis. The choral services were w«ll rendered by the choir. For the first time new hymnal was used. Hon. Albert Matthews at Cobourg October 9 Lieutenant-Governor Hon. Albert Matthews is to be present at Cobourg Baptist Church on the morning of October 9th for the fifty-third anniversary of the Church. The Lieutenant-Governor will be given a welcome by both the Church and by Mayor Maurice Booth of Cobourg. The service will be conducted by Rev. T. J.
