Miss Velma Arklis of Belleville spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. J. Arkils. IMlrs. C. E. Nicholls spent a few days recently visiting Mrs. Harry Lane, Colborne. Mr. Roy Smith has returned from the Wjest to his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Ms. Clayton Barton. Mr. Raymond Bowen of Wooler spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bowen. Mrs. J. Baptist had a serious fall one day last week and hurt her wrist. She is much improved now. Mrs. Argyle Allen and son Benny spent a few days with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Haynes, at Colborne. Mrs. M. Bradley of Eddystone and Mrs. J. E. Wolfraim were recent tea gests of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Thomp- IMr. and Mrs. Arnold Olmstead and baby of Elginburg spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Newman. Master Bunnie Harnden of Vernonville spent ajfew days last week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ziba Harnden. Mrs. J. Baptist has returned home, after spending a few days last week with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Naish. |Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harnden and family of Grafton spent Sunday evening with his pa-rents, Mr. and Mrs. Ziba Harnden. IMr. and Mrs. Ray Didier, Mr. and (Mrs. Jack Mallory and family of Warkworth spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs. Herman Lane. Mr. and Mrs. W. Runnels and sons of Dartford, and Miss Fern Wilson of Warkworth spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McKague. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bryant and children of Oshawa and Miss Eileen Whitney had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Dawson on Sunday. Mrs. C. E. Nichols received word of the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Orliff W. Huycke, on November 23rd, 1938, at her home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The Women of the Wesleyan Methodist Church held their meeting at the home of Miss Dora Farrell on Wednesday afternoon. A good program was enjoyed by all. We are sorry to report that Master Earl Hoover was taken to Cobourg Hospital on Friday and underwent a serious operation for appendicitis. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. -' The-Women's Institute will be held at the home of Mrs. Fred Black, on Thursday, Dec. 8th. Convener--Mrs. G. Welton. Paper--"The Christian Spirit." Wright and a Telegram salesman have been canvassing this Mghibourhood for subscriptions. The "Circle" had a successful baz- ir at the home of Mrs. Denike on Thursday. Mrs. (Rev.) Moore gave a very interesting address. A number of young people from both Baptist and United Churches have been attending the Teacher's Taining Class at Dundonald.
