Mr. and -Mrs. Andrew Broomfield, Oshawa, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. Broomfield on Good Friday. The Ladies' Aid" of Eden Church was entertained at the home of Mrs. E. Mutton, "Orchard Farm," on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dunnett and Mr. and Mrs. A. Mutton spent Thursday, last week, with Mr. and Mrs. C.vfl Mutton, Trenton. Mr. Mark Broomfield, one of Dun-donald school trustees, is attending the annual meeting of the Ontario Educational -Association which meets in Toronto this week. Please keep in mind that on Friday evening, April 29th. 1927, the young-peonle of Codrington will give a play entitled "Aunt Susan's Visit," in the Dundonald Hall. Everyone invited to enjoy this play and encourage the young folk, who are coming into our neighborhood for the first time. UNION CORNERS Mr. Owen Leonard from Rochester, spent Easter at his home here. Mr. H- Black visited at the home of his parents on Easter Sunday. Mis Elva Bowen was the guest of Miss Nina Black for a tew days. Mr. B. Farrara of Toronto, wife and friends, visited his brother, Spencer Farrara over the weekend. Mr. C. Inglis raised a barn on Miss Wamsley's place one day last week. Mr. E. A. Campbell is the builder. On Tuesday night, Mr. C. Richards. Miss Clara Nelson, Toronto Normal and Miss Elva Bowen, Peterboro Normal, are spending their Easter holidays with their parents. Messrs. Glen and Everett Males, and Mr. Herbert Rogers of Rochester, spent the weekend here attending the funeral of their grandmother, Mrs. Morsette, who died on Friday, after several weeks' illness. Services in the United Church this coming Sunday, April 24th, 10.30 Sunday School, 2.45 Men's Group for study and fellowship, 7.30 Preaching Service; Evening subject: "The Man Who Missed the Meeting." Our local minister had an unique experience on Sunday of attending three funerals. The first at 11 of the late O. K. Church, the second at 1.30 of the late Mrs. Morsette, -and the third at 3.00 of the late A. Zufelt. Born--In Percy Township, on March 25th, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Atkinson, a son. Mrs. J. H. Goodrich, who has been suffering from a lengthy illness, removed to Belleville Hospital last Messrs. Mitchell Bros, have sold their farm at Percy Boom to Mr. W. Hall of Campbellford, who intends operating a muskrat ranch. The death occurred on Monday, April 4th, 1927, at Winnipeg, Man., of Clara S. Meisner, beloved wife of Roy P. Hurlbut, formerly of Wark-worth. Interment took place at Win-On Friday afternoon last week Mr. John Martin's barn was discovered on fire. The fire engine was sooi the job and saved the home, which was close to the fire. The fire in the barn had made too great headwa check it. Mrs. James Hartford, who had been ill for some time, died . at her home in Cramahe Township, on Sunday, April 10th, 1927. Mrs. Hartford was 62 years of age, and had been a resident of this vicinity for many years, where she was esteemed by all. The funeral took place on Tuesday to Stone Cemetery for interment.
