Page Four THE COLBORNE EXPRESS, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th, 1927 To Drivers of Motor Vehicles Last Warning J If you have not yet secured your Motor Vehicle Operator's License apply for it without delay It is against the law and punishable by fine to operate a motor vehicle registered in Ontario without first securing a Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Highway Traffic officers have been instructed and municipal police have been requested to demand the production . of Motor Vehicle Operator's Licenses, and any driver unable to produce his or her license at any time is subject to a fine of not less than $10.00. In case of accident or infraction of The Highway Traffic Act, the Operator's License is sure to be called for. Drivers who have not their Operator's License cannot be considered experienced and competent. Application forms for a Motor Vehicle Operator's License can be secured at any garage. Licenses will be granted forthwith to anyone who has driven over 500 miles and for six months continuously, and who is not physically disabled. Examinations will be afforded to all others by Highways 'Department examiners. If you have omitted to get your Operator's License, this is your last warning to secure it. Don't drive a car without it, either on city streets or country highways. Mr. Donald Sykes, who spent his holidays on the Gatineau River, Quebec, at civil engineer work, is home for a few days' holidays. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Moffit, of Rochester, Mrs. Chas. Moffit and Miss Jean Moffit, of Brantford, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dixon. Rev. Russell McGillivray, B. A., B. D. , of Edmonton, Alta., and Mrs. McGillivray and children are visiting Mrs. McGillivrav's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Baker. Considerable credit is due Mr. Aubrey Woof on account of his honorable manner in dealing with the motor accident in which Mrs. Robert Palmateer received severe injuries in Warkworth about two weeks ago. Although Mr. Woof's son was in no way to blame in the accident, Mr. Woof has paid all expenses of the doctor, nurse and board at the hotel during the illness. BRIGHTON Miss Kate Ross is attending Normal School in Toronto. |Mrs. 'M. L. Hodiges left for New York City Wednesday. IMiss Frances Morgan has Peterboro to attend Normal School. Mrs. W. E. Rudd of Toronto is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Cheer. Mrs. R. W Fitzgerald of London, Ont., is visiting her sister, Mrs. F. S. ■Mr Maurice Cheer is making a beautiful home of the Ewing property, which he purchased -some time ago. Report says that Mr. G. S. Langdon has purchased the cosy home formerly owned by Norman Montgomery on Ontario Street. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dunnett are back from their wedding trip to New York City, and are busy settling in their half of the newly remodelled Dunnett home. iMiss Gourley, Miss M. Atkinson, Miss Eva Langdon, Mrs. McCracken and Miss Ruby are motoring to Toronto to spend the weekend with various Mends. Dr. and Mrs. Wade, Miss Mable and Will have returned from their motor trip to Atlantic City and other interesting American Cities, and report a most enjoyable outing. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Freeman, who were guests of Mr. Freeman's mother, Mrs. Dulmage, returned to their home in Moncton last week accompanied by their brother, Mr. Ray freeman. Mr. Orval Archer left for Kirkland Lake last Friday night to take charge of a reponsible book keeping position which had been offered him there. Mrs. Sandford and Miss Ferris, has returned to Detroit, where she is entered as a nurse-in-training Ford Hospital. 'Mr. R. N. Wlhitton's many friends are very glad to learn that he has recovered from his operation in Wel-lesley Hospital, sufficiently well tn be brought home on Tuesday night. iMrs. Rose Maitland has sold her farm to Mr. Will Snelgrove from Port Hone, and she and her mother Mrs. Peistetr, are preparing to occupy Mr. S. D. Ross' home on Main St., recently vacated , by Mrs. C. T. Lapp and family. iMr. C. C. Fiddick, local Customs Officer has returned from a trip to Kill-land Lake and other northern j towns. Gerald Solomon was also a j recent visitor up there and both these | young men are loud in their praises of that fine country and its wonderful possibilities. Little Patsy Nesbitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Nesbitt is recovering satisfactorily from a recent operation for the removal of tonsils ■ and adnoids.
