Seed. School Trustees for 1928-9--F. ] Brintnell, J. A. Corbyn, C. W. Cra riell. The nomination meeting in Colborne Monday, Dec. 26th, 1927, was a rather tame affair. There was parctically no criticism of the conduct of the business by the 1927 Reeve, Sam D. Dudley, and Councillors W. J. Cowie, Ira Edwards, E. E. Mallory and J. M. Snetsinger. There were four nominated for the Reeveship, D. Dudley and J. R. Hancock did not qualify, leaving the contest between Ira Edwards and C. M. Finkle. In the polling on Monday, Mr. Edwards led by one vote in West Colborne--157 to 156--while East Colborne gave Mr. Finkle a majority of 25. Mr. Edwards gave six years faithful service as Councillor before going overseas in the Great War and also for 1927. Mr. Finkle has had five years municipal experience-- three as a member of Sidney Township Council and two as a member of Colborne Council in 1925 and 1926. For Councillors there were nine nom inations, W. J. Cowie, B. H. Coyle, F. C. Morrow, and W. A. Seed were elected by acclamation. Others nominated were S. D. Dudley, Ira Edwards, Dr. Jno. R. Hancock, John McCarl and H. B. Wilson. For School Trustees for 1928 and 1929 there were five nominations. F. M. Brintnell. J. A. Corbyn and C. W. Crandell, retiring trustees were reelected by acclamation. Fred Armstrong did not wish to run and W. A. I Seed qualified for Council. For the Reeveship, Mr. Carl Murphy, unsuccessful one year ago. defeated by 84 majority Mr. S. A. Clark, who has occupied the position for several years and who has spent many years in municipal lift. He was spoken of as a candidate for the Wlardenship of the Counties for this year. Mr. Murphy has had considerable experience in municipal life as councillor and Deputy Reeve, and felt it was time he was stepping up. For Deputy Reeve, Mr. W. A. Samons was successful by a majority of 113 over Mr. W. E.
