The Official Board of the United Church met on Monday night when Rev. J. Beckel received an invitation to remain as pastor. Mr. Robert Bird has moved to a farm east of Colborne. Ottawa, for the purpose of considering certain changes in the regulations tinder the Destructive Insect and Pest Act. The proposed changes include the following: 1. The inspection in Canada of nursery stock imported from the United States: 2. The advisability of prohibiting the importation of elms from Europe on account of the elm disease. 3. The advisability of prohibiting the importation of conifers from Europe on account of the nUn moth and other noxious insects. 4.
