Born in Aberdeen-! sean shire. Mr. Skeaff came to Canada in j Prov 1884 after some service in an Aber- -: deen bank and entered the Bank of j Toronto, serving in Montreal and Toronto and becoming manager at Co-bourg. He has been in the Toronto office since 1905, becoming manager in 1912. Two of his sons served overseas, one giving his life in 1916. DEATH OF MRS PHEOBE CLARE Tweed, March 1st, 1928--The funeral took place here yesterday of Mrs. Pheobe Clare, widow of the late James Clare, who died at the home of her son at Guelph. She was born in Hun-gerford 88 years ago, being a daughter of the late Robert McCamon, a pioneer of Hungerford, and the first Magistrate of that township. Mrs, Clare leaves five sons and three daughters; Wilmot of Thorlow, Sheriff Clare of Belleville, Dr. Harvey Clare of Homewood Sanitarium, Guelph; Rev. D. R. Clare, Norham; R. N. Clare, Saskatoon; Mrs. A. Sanderson. Benson, Sask.; Mrs. W. J. Hinchley and Mrs. W. E. Gartley. Watch for further advertising and posters. The sympathy of the community is felt for Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Redcliffe in the death of their baby boy, John Raymond, aged 2 years. He was ill about two weeks of broncho pneumonia. The funeral service was held in Trinity Church, on Wednesday afternoon, by the Rev. Thos. McKim, M.A. The burial was in Salem Cemetery. The pallbearers were Cecil Burleigh, Alex Grant. Allison Grant, and Alex Mackie. At the last meeting of Haldimand Township Council, Mr. Alfred Larry of Eddystone was appointed road seer of the Township for 1928. remuneration at 40c per hour.
