Lapp has taken a posit -n on the staff of the Standard Bank. Miss W-:alherill has accepted a ,;.!lion on the staff of the Uxbridge .uking the English and Canon Stennett, rector of St. Peter's church for about 25 years. The remains were brought to Cobourg ror interment in St. Peter's cemetery. During the month of June there were 15 deaths, 14 births, and 8 rnar-riagesregistered with tne town clerk of Cobourg, and for the six months ending June 30th there were 66 births, 70 deaths and 21 marriages registered. The deaths include those at the home for the aged and Ontario hospital. "A" Company of the Northumber land Regiment and headquarters staff were inspected by General King, C.M.G., D.S.O. of M.D. No. 3. The regiment is under command of Lt.-Col. Boggs, with Major H. P. Snelgrove in command of "A" company, and Capt. H. Reymes, M.C., second in command. Other members into i of the staff are--Lieuts. E. A. Hir-fe'oek. W. N. Manley, Bruce Boundy, R. E. Drope, Capt. Hurt as musketry officer and Capt. H. McCullough as' quartermaster. Gen. .King after reviewing the company, delivered a short address expressing himself as well satisfied with the movements and appearance of the officers and men.--Cobourg Post. ' Wednesday evening, June 29thv 1921, at the auditorium of the Ontario Hospital, Cobourg, was held the graduating exercise for the nurses-for 1921. This was the first graduating exercise ever held at this hospital, which was taken over from the military authorities last Angus,! w' by the Ontario. Government. u_': was a very large and ' appreciative audience, practically everyone in Cobourg being present. The follow'; ing nurses received their diplomas: Margaret F. Sharw, Minnie Hawthorne Rachael Hawthorne and Annie May Wright; then the usual presentation of pins etc. Many addresses were given by the leading men of the town and vicinity, including one by Samuel Clarke, M.P.P..J who congratulated the officers and I nurses on the excellent work thus' were doing here since opening the hospital. Other leading doctor*, and business men spoke, after which refreshments were served and everyone seemed to enjoy a dance which continued up to midnight. At the regular meeting of the public school board on Tuesday evening, four meml ers of the teaching staff. Misi'es E Floyd, A. L. Thompson, Scott and Z. Usher, ss .• in their resignations, which in three cases were on account of overcrowding of class rooms. This staf: of affairs made it impossible for teachers to do justice to either pupil or themselves. The resignation of the first three named were accepted, and that of Miss Usher was held over as it was believed she would reconsider her resignation. A number of applications for the vacancie's on the staff1 were received. Miss Muriel Winter was appointed to one vacancy and at a salary of $800, and Miss Rosa Tinney, also of Cobourg, was appointed to another vacancy at a salary of $800 a year. Two other appointments were held over.
