The W.M.S. met on Thur., July 4th at the home of Mrs. H. I. Allen with a good attendance. The president, Mrs. MeKague, opened the meeting in the usual manner. The August meeting is cancelled owing to the Invitation to meet with Colborne Auxiliary. "The ladies who attended Sectional at Hoard's gave their impressions of the Rally. AH were in favor of sending a girl to Quin Mo Lac camp. Mrs. W. Day presented the following worship: hymn, "For the Beauty of the earth"; scripture by Mrs. Glenn Papineau; reading by Mrs. L. Ingli* and a solo 'by Eleanor Wilson. The Christian Stewardship secretary, Mrs. Arkles, convened the program. She opened with hymn "He loveth long who loveth well" and an article on Stewardship, "As we become better Christians, we will become better stewards". Mrs. Kemp gave the highlights of the Missionary Monthly. The roll call "How to improve our systematic giving" brought out suggestions for more sacrificial giving. A piano duet by Mrs. G. Ellis Notice to Proprietors of Children's Boarding Homes The Children's Boarding Homes Act, 1957, passed at the last Session of the Ontario Legislature, came into force on July 1st, 1957. This Act requires that any premises in which five or more children are lodged, boarded or cared for shall be registered. The requirement does not apply to institutions registered, licensed or supervised under other provincial Statutes or Departments. If you are the proprietor of a boarding home for children, you should have your premises registered. Application forms and information are available from the Registrar of Children's Boarding Homes, Department of Public Welfare, Parliament Buildings, Toronto. Dianne Hilgorn gave the report of Achievement Day at Brighton in May and Margaret Ducie gave the 4-H Club story on the project: Clothes closets up to date, shoe stands, hat boxes and stands and garment covers were exhibited. A delicious lunch was served by the girls. The August meeting will be a picnic at Mrs. H. Welton's. What we need are fewer Easteners, fewer Westeners and more Canadians, funds.
