The Lord's Day Act of Canada was passed by the Canadian Parliament in 1906 in response to multitudes of letters and petitions requesting a Canadian legal guarantee of Sunday as a day of rest. Although deer were introduced to Nova Scotia only some 60 years ago, the province today has a legal kill of more than 40,000 of these whitetailed animals. The Lord's Day Act of Canada forbids unnecessary work and business on Sundays. Outside of this provision it makes it possible for the individual to decide for himself what he shall do on that day.
