James Broatch came to Canada in 1844, to Cramahe Township, returned to Scotland the following year and married Isabella on 27 January 1845 at Saint Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian. They came back to Cramahe where he was a tenant farmer and raised his children. In later life James and Isabella bought a farm in Trenton. - Notes
