Supplement to The Colborne Chronicle, Thursday, February 26th, 1959 Salem <Too late for last week) Miss Peggy and Master Gary Simpson spent Saturday afternoon at Smithfield with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Potter. Choir practise was held last Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith. This week it was held on Tuesday evening at the church. Miss Beauchamp and pupils entertained the school children at a Valentine party at the school on Friday afternoon. A short program was held and refreshments served. Mrs. George Peters and infant son returned from Cobourg Hospital last Wednesday, February 11th. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bellamy and Cathy and Mr. and Mrs. Ian McCaw of Toronto spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bellamy, Karen and Brian. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. C. Bellamy who celebrated a wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 15th. Messrs. Arthur and Wilfred Bailey motored to Toronto on Tuesday of last week. Mr. Ernest Peacock of Thamesville spent the past week-end with his sister, Mrs. R. Blyth. The Executive of the Cobourg Presbytery Woman's Association was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Sunday School Hall at Salem. At this meeting plans were made for the annual Spring Rally to be held at Codrington. Lunch was served by the Salem ladies. The kitchen at the church has newly installed kitchen cabinets thanks to the voluntary labour of Messrs. Jack Smith, Cecil Bellamy, Ed Ash-bridge, Wallace Onyon and Alf Smith. The arborite for the counter top was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Smith. A special re-dedication servic being planned for Salem Church for Sunday, March 1. This service will be held at 7.30 in the evening. Rev. Asbell of Grafton will be the guest speaker and special music will be provided by the choir. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith and girls of Cobourg spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brown. The committee in charge of plan-ping the Turkey Supper held their meeting last Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Bradford. Sandra and Barbara Smith of Cobourg spent Saturday afternoon with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith, while their parents attended the funeral of Mr. Roy Benedict. Mrs. Sydney Pearson called on Mr. and Mrs. George Peters and infant son last Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brown spent last Saturday in Toronto.
