Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Turney and Mildred and Sandra were Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Turney, Bowmanville, and Mr. Cecil Reid, Peterborough. Many of the Colborne people attended the bingo in Peterborough Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hawkey and family, Ridgeway and Miss Norma Arkles were guests of Mrs. W. L. Arkles and Mr. Edward Kearns of Hamilton spent the week-end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kearns and Mr and Mrs. Terry Sabins of Cobourg spent the week-end in Colborne. Many of Colborne people spent part Miss Georgina Harper of Burlington and Miss Joan Harnden, Toronto, spent the week-end here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Harper and Mr. Orra Harnden. They have just returned from a week's vacation in New York City at the Belmont-Plaza with Miss Alice Barnecott and Miss Lee Bloye of Hamilton and Miss Joan Boice of Brampton. Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Thibault and Miss Sharon Scott of Scarboro visited with Mrs. A. JHarvey on the week-end. Mr. A. D. Broomfield formerly of the Canadian Bank of Commerce Staff, Colborne has recently been transferred to the Picton, Ontario Branch of the Branch from Hagers-ville. His family will be taking up residence there this week. Mr. and Mrs. W. Self and Stuart attended a church parade and service at Garden Hill United Church Brownies, organized and conducted by Miss Anne Self and the Cub Pack, on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Malcolm Snelgrove of Dunrob-in, Ontario, with her two children. Dorothy and Cynthia, has been spending a few days at the parsonage with her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. F Taylor. Jane Elizabeth and John Peter, children of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wagar, were received by Holy Baptism in the fellowship of the Church of Christ on Sunday afternoon in Colborne United Church by the Rev. F. W. Taylor, Mrs. Gerald Klein, Toronto, spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. Frank McGlennon, "Atholcrest". Mrs. Ed Handley and Mrs. Al Wool-ley, Toronto, were guests of Mrs. Frank McGlennon on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rutherford, Sr., accompanied by Miss Joan Rutherford of Hamilton spent the week-end in Niagara Falls, guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. Leach.
