Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Chatten and family attended the birthday party on Sunday of Mrs. Chatten's grandfather, Mr. Edward Farrow, who celebrated his ninetieth birthday at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Macklin, Cobourg. Papst at Brighton and found his grandmother suffering a stroke. Mr. Wilfred Sheppard of Port Union spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sheppard. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Baker, Welcome, were Sunday visitors of Mrs. D. Arkils and Mr. Vanwicklin. Mr. Bert Bowen of Peterborough was home for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Naish moved into their new home on Saturday. A grass fire started at Mr. Cun-cliffe's farm on Sunday creating a lot of excitement. The fire engine was called from Colborne and a large number of men turned out to help. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Simpson of Trenton visited relatives here on Saturday. Mr. Art Pomeroy, Toronto, was home for the week-end. The Community Club meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, April 21st, at Mrs. Oran Day's at 8.30 p.m. The W.A. meeting will be held this Thursday afternoon in the Sunday School rooms. The W.I. will meet on Thursday afternoon, April 23rd, at 2.30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Gordon Carr for regular business meeting and reports. Everyone is urged to attend. An Easter service was held on Sunday morning in the United Church. Quite a few were present from Morganston and Centreton.
