Mrs. James Mooney, of Enniskilin, spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sheldrick. Master John Lynn spent a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Greer, Belleville. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Irwin, Dundonald, visited her father, Mr. John F. Wright, last Sunday. Mrs. Phipps, Hamilton, is visiting at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Howell. Miss Karen Redner is holidaying in Rednersville with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Fox. Miss Audrey White of Toronto spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. White. Mr. William Tye, Toronto, spent the weekend with his father, Mr. R. H. Tye, at the Hotel Brunswick. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins and family, Cobourg, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. T. Armstrong. Mr. J. Best left this week to visit his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David W. Hay, Moncton, N.B. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cupples of Tilsonburg were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bell over the holiday weekend. Lt.-Col. and Mrs. J. F. WoMraim are visiting at the home of Rev. and, Mrs. H. Wolfraim, Lakefield. , Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dance returned home on Wednesday of last week from an extended trip to the West Rev. and Mrs. Jay J. Armstrong, Peter and Pamela, spent a few days this week guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Reid. Orangeville. Mr. and Mrs. H. Wilson, two sons and daughter, Fort William, are guests of her sister, Mrs. N. T. Armstrong, and Mr. Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Ken. McGinty, Toronto, and Mrs. John Delaney, Guelph, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Peterson on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Levitt and Mr. Walter Peterson, Toronto, recently visited Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Teal. Mr. and Mrs. L. Gormley, Renfrew, spent last weekend with her sister, Mrs. G. B. Barnes, her mother, Mrs. W. A. Black, remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart spent last weekend at Maple and King, also visited their daughter, Joan, Who is enjoying her summer position in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wood, Mrs. W. W. D. McGlennon and her guest, Mrs. D. A. McDonald, spent Wednesday at Picton Lake, north of Peterborough. Mrs. E. W. Rowsome spent a few days in Toronto this week. Her grandson, Master Douglas Rowsome, underwent an operation at the Hospital for Sick Children. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur State and son Randy of Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fiske. Randy is remaining for a week's visit with his grandparents. Miss Edith Kitching, Toronto, spent last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kitching. She was returning from a week's vacation at Montreal and Alexandria. Mrs. B. Frost, Evelyn and Bruce, of Peterborough, Mrs. F. Finch, Carolyn and Janet, of Hamilton, Mrs. M. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Philp and family, Port Rowan, are spending a few: weeks here1! Gordon is looking after the shoe store while his brother and family are on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Evans, Mr. and Mrs. John Streeton and Mrs. Bruce Calverley, all of Toronto, also Mrs. Hilda Redsell of Sudbury, were weekend guests of Major and Mrs. W. Symonds. Mrs. E. O. Coyle left last week for a two months' vacation with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dodds, Denver, Colorado, enroute she will visit Mr. and Mrs. Grant Williams, Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. George Harper motored to Kirkland Lake and Sudbury last week, they were accompanied home by their daughter, Georgina, who had finished the school term as teacher at Boston Creek. Mr. and Mrs.- H. J. White, Sgt. and Mrs. John White and Jimmie, and Miss Audrey White attended the Beckner reunion in Holstein Park on Saturday. They also visited friends at Mount Forest and Alliston. Several from here availed themselves of the privilege to go by chartered bus Jo Gananoque, from their by boat through the Thousand Islands. The trip was sponsored by Colborne Branch of the Women's Institute. Mr. and Mrs. Ira D. Moore of Long Point. Chemong, and Mrs. Ethel Cook-son of Toronto visited their daughter and niece. Mrs. Gordon Davis, on Monday, taking Master Peter Davis back with them for his summer va- Weekend guests at the home of Mrs. W. L. Arkles included Mrs. D. L. Arkles and daughter, Dawn Marie, Mr. K. E. Fleming, Cobourg, Mr. Arthur Meneilley and Miss Lillian Gravelle, Port Hope, and Miss Norma Arkles, Belleville. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Philp, Tommy, and Margaret, left on Sunday morning for Edmonton, Alberta, where they will spend several weeks. En-route they will attend the Calgary Stampeed on Friday and Saturday of this week. Miss Grace Harvey was pleasantly surprised last Monday evening when a number of her friends gathered .at the home of Miss Jane Hodges, in honour of her (?>birthday. A happy time was spent, Grace received many cards and gifts. Mr. Beverlie Brown, Oshawa, called on friends here last Tuesday. His sister and brother, Mrs. E. Higginson and Mr. Charles P. Brown, accompanied him to Wellington to visit the latter's daughter, Mrs. M. Keane, who is moving to reside at Kingston. Miss Georgina Harper leaves this weekend for Brandon, Man., where she will join the Anglican Mission Caravan, which will visit outposts during an eight-week period. Miss Harper, when she returns next fall,-, will attend the. Peterborough Normal School. Rev. R. E. Lemon officiated at the wedding of Miss Eleanor I. Carleton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H. G. Car- leton, Peterborough. The marriage took place in Christ Anglican Church, Norwood on Saturday last.
