A very large number from the neighbourhood saw the Queen and Prince Philip go through Colborne, Saturday evening. Several members of the Legion and Auxiliary were in Port Hope Sunday morning helping guard the streets for the Queen and Prince Philip when they attended St. Mark's Church, they also guarded streets in Colborne, Saturday evening, when they passed through. Lovering and Mary have been visiting his parents at Grand Cascapenda, Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. W. Amor are spending two weeks at their daughters cottage at Lakefield. Miss Gail Harber is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. Stiles at Montreal. Mr. and Mrs. Jack May and children of Guelph have been holidaying at Mr. and Mrs. E. Mays. Mr. Earl Welton and Fiancee, Miss Winnifred Jeffrey of Cambridge Bay, N.W.T., are visiting his mother, Mrs. H. Welton, prior to their marriage on Saturday at Castleton United Church. Mr. and Mrs. J. Quinn of Newark, N.J., are visiting Mrs. Chas Quinn. Quite a number from here went to the No. 2 Highway to see the Queen .Saturday evening. The traffic was deverted through here for the time. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moore spent a day in Toronto last week. A plane crashed Sunday night while dusting Mr. C. Kober's field of tobacco.
