We were off to India without budging from our seats. My airline sales clerk ^ave me costs, plane time, hour of arrival; what to wear and pack, the weather and heat we would enjoy there. What we would be eating, too; and the kind of money there'd be. We had some good pictures of villages there, and people. The boys and girls used plenty of imagination. Some of them .-aid afterwards they got the feeling they had really been We Get Around in am v\E -- Nothing like planting the travel bug early. It won't be many years before these same youngsters will actually be heading for points east, west, and where-have-you. Going places and seeing things adds heaps to "book Tarnin' " when it comes to finding out about the world we live in. DEAR DORIS -- Already I consider >ou as a dear friend. This 17-year-old boy is very nice, and he's not a passing 'thing", as you might suspect. He's never asked me out but all I have to do is tell him I'm baby sitting and he'll come jver and sit with me for hour? The thing is, that we never get sexually involved. You see, we'll sit and hold ands until it's time for him to o, and then just before he aves, he'll kiss me shortly on i> forehead. He's told me that hen two young people get Nually involved, that's when he trouble starts, and he mows for a fact that he, himself, once a girl got him .roused, couldn't just stand up md say, "Let's stop," • -«i,v .hing like that. 9 But, the real pr< !>W.:: is, my giil friends (two o£ their.) will come to school and tell me how involved they got with (his same boy on Friday or Saturday night. Doris, what am 1 ;:oing to do? What if he turns from me if he finds out Mr., Mrs Lome Darling were in Toronto for Christmas. Mr.. Mrs Sid Peebles spent Christmas week in Apsley with Mr.. Mrs Willet Peebles.' Mrs. C Quinn was in Toronto for Xmas, Mr., Mrs Vern Eosk-in wet e in Quebec with relatives for Christmas. Mr.. Mrs Bob Fife, Owen Sound, were at Mr., Mrs W Wentwo-rths for Christmas. he can get free sex from my friends? Would Hate To Lose Him DEAR WOULD HATE TO -- Keep your cool. Treasure the fact that he treasures you enough to keep his distance. A hoy who knows his limits and stays within them, and cares enough about you to explain himself, -deserves your co-oper- You won't keep him by joining the free-sexers (whose story I doubt anyway). But 1 don't go for the lonely possibil ities of baby-sitting evenings, If he slips just once he ma.v begin to hate himself -- and. i DEAR DORIS--Is it true that everybody's eyes deteriorate as they get older? I have never needed glasses, but now small print is beginning to look blurred. I am 44. My grandmother doesn't wear glasses, and she still, reads the newspaper, at 87 Not What I Used To Be DEAR NOT WHAT -- It happens with just about every body. There are rare cases of "second sight", in which a person's eyeball retains its youth ful curve. In most people, the eyeball tends to flatten out, so that the point of f'vius gets further and from the eye Glasses, or lenses, correct this. But you aren't the only one who doesn't realize i'n\s. There are others who complain they are going blind, when all they need is new glasses! Confidential to Groom's Mother -- My leaflet "Happy the Bride," goes into responsibility of bride, groom, bride's family, groom's family; and it is on its way to you. Get your son to clue his pals in on the fact that he doesn't want a stag party, and why. You yourself can solve part of the problem by having a tea or evening do for your friends and your son's friends to meet his bride. Not a shower, though; no member of either family should eive a shower. NOTICE Any parent or guardian with pre-school children and wish to teach them to skate; the arena will be open from 2 -3 p.m. every Wednesday; IF enough interest is shown. .
