L.M. -Ware, of Colborne Anglican Church will be guest minister. Special music with Mr. Klaus Temmel. of Colborne, at the piano. Sunday School classes at Salem United have finished until fall. June meeting of teachers and officers will be Tuesday evening at the home of Supt, Mrs. S. Pearson. Promotion Service will be held at regular church service on June 28, with children's choir in attendance. Special music, plan to attend! Mrs. Bain and new baby daughter, Peter's Road, Salem, arrived home from Cobourg District hospital. Friends were sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Frank Watkinson. Toronto, early this week. Mrs. Watkinson is the former Miss Evelvn Nobbs of Edville. The Board of Stewards of Salem United met June 15 at church hall. The resignation of Mrs. Ed Ashbridge as church pianist was accepted with regret. Mr. Klaus Temmel, Colborne, has accepted this position. Mr. and Mrs." George Peters are grandparents of a baby girl, born last week to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Westrope, Colborne. COMMUNITY CLUB CAS An especially warm feeling pervaded the season's last meeting of the Women's Auxiliary to the Children's Aid Society as they read letters accompanying gifts of money to the organization. 5 to/2 \annahQUALITY CARS J . Photo A,G AustinAA/ooler One letter came froiBj Port Hope High School' and contained the signatures of 62 students who wanted to help the Children's Aid, without personal publicity. The other gift was from Gr. 4-5 in Room 1 at Howard Jordan Public School who "saved our pennies, nickels and dimes all year...and we hope it will help." The total amount to $98, part of which will be used for the playroom at Hillcrest Lodge, the rest for a wading pool. Next meeting of the auxiliary will be in September at the home of Mrs. John Hayden, 364 George St., Cobourg. Visitors are welcome. Mrs. Herborg Goddard was hostess for June meeting of Union Community Club, June 10; 14 present. The Pres. opened with hymn "Safe in the arms of Jesus", Creed was repreated in unison, followed by Lord's prayer. Scripture lesson, Psalm 23, was read by Mrs. Myrtle Iulg. During business period, a Bake Sale was planned. Mrs. Ruthven introduced guest speaker, Mrs. Thompson, from the Stepping Stones' Nursery School, Trenton. Assisted by another lady from the school who showed interesting film, Mrs. Thompson described the help being offered the retarded child at Trenton School. Much work done there is voluntary. A sincere thanks was given to the guests and to the hostess. Benediction closed the meeting and social hour followed with lunch served by hostess and June committee. The July meeting will be held at Mrs. Evelyn Amodeo's, in the form of a picnic, commencing at 12:30 noon.
