There are three considerations in health care -- health arrangements will come under strain, manpower and money are not unlimited; various health occupations will have to become interdependent with health services working as a a team. Everyone is caught in the health field change and time must be taken to evaluate the change before "jumping in". Nurses are able to "spot" loopholes in nursing and work to correct them. The role of the nurse is changing, and the new concept will be evaluation of change, team work, and prevention. Last month at the Riviera Inn. Campbellford, about 150 registered nurses from Fort Hope, Cobourg and Colborne, met with members of the Trent Chapter RNAO. Head table guests were chapter presidents, with Mrs. Glenna Carter of Trent presiding. Miss Irene Lawson, regional secretary of RNAO Reg. 6, was also a head table guest. Mrs. Diane Ballard introduced Minister of Health Tom Wells, who said the rate of health progress in the last 50 years staggers the mind. Hayward and son, bngnion, eaueu on Mr-and Mrs. K.L. Palmer Sunday. Miss Suzanne Palmer, Toronto, spent the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric S. Palmer. Victor Easay, Toronto, visited relatives in the village, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, Toronto and Miss Edith Moore were guests at the wedding reception of their niece Miss Gail Moore and Mr. Richard Stevens at St. Paul's United Church, Carp, Ont. June 20th. Mr. and Mrs. B. Trimble, Port Credit, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. McKenzie. They and several others from Lakeport attended the Legion Barbecue held Saturday at Colborne. Everyone agreed it was a delicious meal. Mrs. Dorothy Warner and daughter Peggi, Cobourg, were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Palmer. SALEM Congratulations to Carolyn Bailey and Darlene Bellamy, Grade 2 pupils at South Cramahe Public School, for recognition received in the Safety Poster campaign. Accompanied by Darlene's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Bellamy, the girls attended the special evening at Percy Centennial Public School, Warkworth, Friday evening and were presented with a Manitoba Centennial Silver Dollar. The youngsters had entered the Water Safety Poster campaign. Caroline is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bailey Little Lake Road. The Junior class of Salem Sunday School and teacher, Don Arthur, enjoyed an afternoon of sports at the home of teacher, Mrs. Jack Fenaughty Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Pearson and Shari, neice Miss Beth Pearson, and friend from Toronto were Sunday guests of the George Peters family. Mr. Donald Swain visited his father Mr. Howard Swain, Sunday attending Salem United Memorial Service in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Burley and boys, Concord, were Sunday guests of her mother, Mrs. Ada Smith. Mr. and Mrs. William Brown attended the funeral of Mrs. Cecil Goodfellow, Codrington, Sunday afternoon and were supper guests of her brother Mr. Charles Buchanan and family of Codrington. Friends were sorry to learn Mr. Coleman Townsend, Holloway, was seriously injured working of the 401 highway, and was in the intensive care unit of Belleville General Hospital for over a week. Mr. Townsend is a cousin of Mr. William Brown, Salem. The Delbert Bellamy family spent Father's Day with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Redcliffe at Marmora. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bellamy, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Island, Colborne, spent the weekend at Brock-port, New York, attending the graduation party of Miss Katherine Palmateer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Palmateer, Brockport, N.Y. Colborne, opened for business Wednesday. The hotel has undergone extensive alterations and improvements during the past months.
