Rev. N.E. Schamerhorn officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Downey of Bowmanville. The groom is a Brighton resident. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white crepe trimmed in yellow daisies and carried a white Bible with yellow roses and white mums. Matron of Honor was Mrs. Joyce Hogg. She wore a full length gown of yellow crepe with white daisies. She carried a full white and yellow ball. Other attendants were Barbara Peebles, a friend of the bride and Deanne Hooey, a niece of the bride, as flower girl. The groom was attended by Oral Hogg and ushers were Dean Bruce and Joel Bruce. A reception was held at Memorial Park where the guests were received by the bride's mother. She wore a full length pink dress and white' accessories and carried a corsage of pink roses and white mums. The couple honeymooned in the United States and on the East Coast. Colborne boy finishes third at track meet Dave Peckham of Colborne finished third in the midget boy's 1,500 metre race at the Ontario Legion Track and Field Championships. Dave, who is a well known cross country runner on the high school track and field circuit also finished fourth in his heat in the 800 metre event.
