Oct. 23, 1974 The Colborne Citizen Page 7 Good showing by ENSS runners Saturday, the ENSS cross-country team travelled to York University to compete in their invitational cross-country runs. Over 1,000 participants competed representing more than 50 high schools. Over 200 Ann O'Sullivan and Mario Taylor finished in the top quarter of the field of over 200 athletes in the open girls event. The midget boy's team of Harold Kuschnik, David Johnson, Steve Julian, Len Cameron, Jeff Leavy, Mike Sayers, and Steve Langer combined to give ENSS third place in the midget event. In a closely fought junior race, Dave Peckham captured the third place trophy. Combined with Robin Peister, Paul Turner, and Mike Moran's placings, ENSS was able to place fifth in the junior race. Representing the school in the senior division were Bill O'Sullivan, Wayne Williams, Steve Sharpe, and David Down. Meanwhile, over at Markham, Marg McKeown and Carol Nyhoff were attempting to make the Ontario team which would represent the province at the Champion of Champions meet. Marg's nineth place finish insured her a place on the team but Carol's thirteenth placing fell three short. Both ran very well in this trial. Congratulations to the cross-country team on another fine weekend and special thanks is extended to Mrs. Johnson, Mr. O'Sullivan, Mr. Julian, and Miss Bahniuk for donating their time to drive the athletes to Toronto.
