Treasurer's report was read. It was decided that the next meeting would be held at the home of Mrs. Lyle Chatten on April 10th. Mrs. Chatten handed out some pamphlets. It was decided that the club pay a grocery bill of $2.95. The cluib members then took notes on the following topics: "Vegetables," "Why do we use vegetables?" and "Cooking vegetables." A simple French dressing and a salad were demonstrated by Mrs. Chatten and Mrs. Pearson demonstrated tea biscuits. Club members took notes on 'Bread and Cereals" and "Reasons for eating bread and cereals. They also sampled the salad and tea biscuits. They judged menus and gave reasons for their place- The meeting then closed. 4-H CLUB MEETING The field meeting of the Community Charmers was held at the home of Mrs. Lyle Chatten March 27th. The meeting opened with O Canada and the 4-H pledge. The secretary's report was read by Susan Pearson and approved. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Roland, spent the weekend at their home here in Edville. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Chapman and family were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McDonald, Scarborough. Mr. and Mrs. George McDonald and boys, Toronto and Mr and Mrs. Bud Walters' and family, Belleville, spent Sunday at their cottage at Little Lake. Mr. John Cochrane spent a few days in Toronto this week at the Royal York Hotel, attending the Wheat Board Convention. Mr. Bob Chapman, Burnham-thorpe and Miss Leslie Anne Harris, New Toronto, called on Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chaprnzm on Sunday afternoon.
