O'- CRIPPLED CHILDREN NOT OVERLOOKED IN REMOTE AREAS A crippled child living in some remote part of the province of Ontario is not overlooked or missed by the Easter Seal Society. Throughout the year diagnostic clinics are held in cities and towns closely associated with these far distant points and arrangements are made through the family doctors and the service clubs to bring these children in to be examined by the medical specialists attending the clinics. In some cases, immediate medical attention is needed. In others prescribed treatment is followed through by the doctor in the community. The important point is that the children are found and are given an opportunity to take part in the rehabilitation program developed by the Ontario Society for Crippled Child- Another important service of the Easter Seal Society is the provision of a temporary foster home care for severely handicapped children whose mothers need some rest from the constant care, or because of ilness or confinement cannot take care of their child temporarily.
