NOBLE, Auctioneer J24J1 CAR RALLY The Canadian National Exhibition this year will hold its first car rally -- a marathon event with three routes, each covering 850-miles. Total car pries will amount to $3,660. Officially called the CNE Marathon Car Rally the event will start at 9.00 a.m. Monday, August 23rd, from three starting points at Toronto, Montreal and Rochester, N.Y. Rally Master is Ian McAlpine well known in Canadian and U.S. car rally circles. The routes wiU merge at Belleville at 7.00 p.m., August and leave on a common route between 9.00 and 10.00 i. and arrive for a breakfast stop at Orillia, leaving there at approximately 8.00 a.m. for a run into the grounds of Exhibition Park. Finish will' be at approximately 1.00 p.m. at the Princes' Gates of the Exhibition. Maximum number of entries will be 75 cars. Entry deadline will be Midnight, July 31st. Competitors must belong to a car club recognized by the Canadian Automobile Sports Clubs or by invitation. The prizes will be awarded for private and sponsored entries imported cars and North American cars, starting prizes and prizes for novices, ladies and teams. There will be approximately 50 route control points. The rally will be a long distance endurance test and although not unique in form, it will be one of the few rallies with as many as three starting points which converge on a single route.
