Mrs. Jack Webb, Roseneath, also reporting from the Farm Safety Conference, stated "85% of highway accidents are caused by human error, 10% are caused by mechanical, error and 5% are caused by road and weather conditions". PENSIONS AT 67 IN JANUARY NEXT An extra 40,000 persons in Ontario will become eligible for Old Age Security pension in January, 1968, and so should be making application at This time. These are the people who will reach 67 by the end of this calendar year. Canadian citizenship is not re-quired for eligibility. Mr J. G Parsons, Regional Director of Old Age Security for Ontario, stated that applications from persons borrt in the year 1900 have been very slow coming in to the Ontario Regional Office. Less than 3,-000 or 7.7 percent were received by the end of March. Old Age Security applications, along with an explanatory booklet, may bo obtained from any Post Office, and should be sent to the Regional Director of Old Age Security, 25 St. Clair Avenue East, Toronto 7, Ontario. Since an applicant must prove age, birth or baptismal certificates should be sent in with application. If such documents cannot be submitted, t h e application should be completed and sent to the Regional Office with a note explaining why the required certificates cannot be obtained. The Regional Office will then assist the applicant to find other evidence of age.
