Several guests assisted Rev R W French with his worthwhile service. Mrs Ron Peters, of Colborne presided ait the piano, Mrs Ralph Barnes, Brighton Anglican Church read the Scripture message. Miss Doris Cook, Colborne contributed a well delivered monologue, explaining how a hard hearted housewife became aware of the need of others. Rev French delivered a sermon which gave a new insight into the parable of Jonah and the Whale. > The Intermediate class of Salem Sunc'iay School, inspired by the Mission and Service need, are planning a 'Fun Fair' at the home of Mickey Fenaughty. All the kids in the neighborhood invited. Proceeds to be given to the M & S Committee. Salem friends will be sorry to learn. Mrs Whitney McDonald, 21 Nassau St., Oshawa was bereaved earlier this month, when her husband passed away at Oshawa. Mr., Mrs McDonald and daughter, Lillian were Salem reidents for several years, following World War 11. Mr. McDonald took an active interest in Salem Softball Team. Mr. Elroy Rath spent several days on the East Coast. Mr., Mrs Bob Bland, Oshawa were Remembrance Day dinner guests of Mr., Mrs Jack Smith and family. Mr Garry Bellamy, Toronto, enjoyed part of his holidays in Salem with his parents Mr., Mrs Leonard Ward and brother Lawrence. The other week was spent with sister L.A.W Sharon Porth and husband L.A.C Lyle Porth, Summerside, PEL Word has been received that Mr Murdoch Judson Sr. has passed away. The Judson family were former Salem residents. They occupied the home now owned by Mr., Mrs Jack Hutc-hings. Minor Hockey News News Of Castleton Mr., Mrs Gerald Welton spent a few days in Toronto visiting Mrs F S Mallory and attended the Winter Fair. Mrs Wm Turney attended the Winter Fair as guest of the Department of Agriculture for her Minor hockey league registrations are now over 234 boys, represented on 18 teams which play sixteen hours a week.
