Can -Farm A new farm record Keeping system known as Can-Farm will be introduced in Canada this year. Can-Fram is a Federal Provincial undertaking, introd-ucd on a trial basis a few years ago and available to a limited number of farmers in each Province for 1970. It is a computerized system, very flexible and can be tailored to the type of information and detail required by the individual farmer. In brief Can-Farm provides tax fil ing information, a monthly cash operating statement and a monthly credit account statement as well as information useful for management decisions. There will be a fee of approximately $25.00 for this service Many farmers in the area are familiar with the 'Blue Book' which has been available in Ontario who are using thg blue book for a number of years. Farmers for their accounts and wish to have them analyzed through the University of Guelph arc reminded that the books should be completed by the end of December and forwarded to the iocai offices of the Ontario Department of Agriculture & Food for summarizing. The 1969 and 1970 blue book 'Farm Accounts' will continue to be analyzed through the University. It is hoped that by 1971 many farmers who are presently using the blue book will be on the new Can-Farm system.
