The Lure Of The Scale Weigh scales have a special fasination for the overweight person who always has to stop and learn the worst. It would be much easier to see the doctor and follow his prescribed diet. If the extra pounds are due to some health condition, that can be cleared up with proper treatment. Most cases of overweight are due to overeating and if a balanced diet is followed carefully, the average person can get rid of the superfluous flesh by just cutting down on too many "extras." Adults are healthier if they are a little underweight rather than over, especially as they grow older.
