Another social evening is planned for January 29 for the rest of the community. Mrs. Clarence Ellis of Oshawa spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Clark. Mr. Clark has been quite ill but is improving. Mrs. H. Welton and Kingsley were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Tait. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Massey Merla and Linda of Peterborough were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McKague. Castieton W. I. The W.I. meeting was held on Thursday night at the home of Mrs. F. Warner, with a good attendance. Mrs. S. Peebles, president was in charge. Reports were given by the standing committee convenors. Thank you notes for Christmas Boxes were read. Mrs. W. Turney and Mrs. S. Peebles attended the Sew and Save leadership classes at Brighton. Mrs. Turney gave a report on it and they plan to start classes soon. Mrs. H. Welton was program convenor and the roll call was answered by, "How local places came by their name." Mrs. G. Carr gave the motto, '"Every privilege carries a responsibility." Mr. C. Inglis played the violin for community singing. Joan Blakely gave a dancing selection which was 'really nice. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Viaene were present and put on movies of a trip to Belgium last year, which were most interesting. The meeting closed with lunch and social time. Mr. and Mrs. T. Black, Mrs. H. Mr. Walter Lumsden, Victoria Harbour, is spending a few days this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Peebles in connection with his work with Mr. Peebles. Please keep in mind and plan to attend the annual meeting of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Peebles, Tuesday evening, January 26. Plans have been made to send more parcels to Miss Geor,-gina Cole, Swaziland, South Africa. No doubt most of you read the letter from Miss Cole sent to Mrs. Ivan Flanders in the January 14 issue of the Colborne Chronicle, in receipt of parcels received before Christmas. Those of us who had made her aquaintance could just vis-Ulize the happy expression on her face as she opened these parcels. Anyone wishing to donate dried or dehydrated food or a donation of money to help with postage, kindly leave it with Mrs. Ivan Flanders as soon as possible, as parcels must be mailed by the end of January so as to reach Miss Cole by Easter, and will the donar please write their name on each gift. Mr. and Mrs. William Howard and sons Ronny and Kenny of Glen Miller, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ptettibone. Mrs. Pettibone, returned with them on Sunday for a few days. A very pleasant evening was spent Saturday, January 16 at the home of Mrs. Arnold Pettibone when Mrs. Douglas Irwin (nee Beverley Hubble) was honoured at a miscellaneous show-During the evening there a guessing contest which was lots of fun. Beverley received beautiful gifts for which she sincerely thanked everyone. A delicious lunch was served by Miss Rose Anne Roddy and Mrs. Neil Fiddick, assisted by Mrs. Alf. Lines of Port Dal-housie. Beverley and Doug, will reside in Hamilton and our very best wishes are extended to LAKEPORT by Mrs. R.
