Jones Best wishes are extended to Mrs. Caroline Everden who celebrated her 80th birthday last Sunday, March 20th, 1960, her home near Little Lake. Her immediate family spent the sup-hour with her for this important occasion. Mrs. Everden, who has been in failing health for some time, was able be up in a chair for her birth' day celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Everden and boys spent Friday ir Toronto and attended the Sportsman's Show at the Coli-i. Later they were supper guests at the home of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McClelland and family. Little Pam Church is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alf. Smith while her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Church are holidaying in Florida. Mrs. Wm. Brown was hostess to the members of the Recreation Club, their husbands and friends, last Saturday evening, when a progressive euchre party, sponsored by the club, was held at her home. He had been in apparent good health and with Mrs. Clarke had spent an enjoyable evening at the home of Mr. Sid Turpin, Colborne. On returning home, while yet in the car in the garage, he suffered a fatal stroke. Friends and neighbours attended the funeral service on Saturday afternoon at the James Blacklock Funeral Home, Graf-conducted by Rev. J. A. Roney. Interment was in Lake-port Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wicks, Oshawa, spent Wednesday night and Thursday with his aunt, Mrs. Fred Clarke. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Irvine and family spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Anderson, Kingston. Mr. and Mrs. George Haywood and Karen, Toronto, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Crawford. Miss Rose Anne Roddy spent the week-end recently at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrard Waters, Ottawa. Mrs. Wm. Irvine is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marshall, Cobourg. Mrs. Ivan Flanders spent a couple of days during the past week at the home of her sister. Miss Florence Archibald, Peterborough, and attended the annual "At Home" at Teachers' College, Friday night, guest of her daughter, Miss Anita Flanders. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hall and family visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hie, Cobourg, on Sunday. Larry Joice spent Saturday vening with his cousin, Wayne oice, Port Hope. Mrs. JameS Jones, Cooksville, spent a few days the past week at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Val Unwin. Mr. and Mrs. Henry May and family spent Sunday afternoon and evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil May, Castieton. Mr. Jim McKenzie, Toronto, spent the week-end at his home. Mrs. McKenzie returned with him on Sunday for two weeks at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. B. Trimble. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis May, Castieton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry May on Friday last.
