Mrs. John White-house, secretary of the Scholarship Committee made the presentation at a Seymour West 4-H Club meeting hold at the home of the leader Mrs. George Fisher, RR 2, Hastings. Miss MeKtlvie merited this Scholarship on the basis of her 4-H Homemaking Club work, (9 projects), her community and school activities and her personal integrity. All of Ileen's friends wish s she continues her training at Peterboro Civic Hospital. Ik en is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. McKelvie, RR 4, CampbeF-I'ord. and took club work under the leadership of Mrs. Thomas Campbell. Naturally, the more waste there is, the higher the actual cost of file edible portion. So the type or cut of meat purchased has a very great effect on the meat budget. As a case in point, the Home Economics Service of the Ontario Department of Agriculture cites this example. Some years ago, when rib roast was 55c a pound, they found that the edible portion actually worked out to 70c a pound, once waste was eliminated.
