Mrs. Noel Maskery was hostess to the Ladies Guild of St. Peter's Anglican Church Thursday evening. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Peebles who celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary on Thursday, September 8. Their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Peebles of Georgetown spent the week end with them. Both families celebrated at a dinner party on Sunday, September 11. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Peebles celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on Saturday, September 10. Congratulations and best wishes are extended to both couples. (This Week) Congratulations to Rev. W. E. Sayers and Mrs. Sayers the arrival of a baby girl, born Sunday, September 18, at Cobourg General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Winter and Betty, Acadamy Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis May, Frank and Philip of Castleton visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry May on Saturday. Mr. Jack Orrock, of Downs-view, Mr. Bob Cracknell, Will-owdale spent Sunday with Mr. D. Orrock and what busy men they were while there. They dug Jack's potatoes (14 bushel) picked pears and tomatoes and enjoyed a few games of Horse Shoes, and it was two very hausted fellows that left for home Sunday evening. They said "There's something about a week end in Lakeport, really enjoy it." Mr. and Mrs. Mac Pettibone, Toronto spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pettibone and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pettibone. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Fiddick and Elaine moved into their new home on Saturday, recently purchase from Mr. Stanley Probert. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Crawford returned after spending days in Toronto, owing to the illness of their son, Mr. Irvine Crawford, who was in General Hospital undergoing surgery.
