Mr. and Mrs. Art Pomeroy, Toronto, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bern Pomeroy over the weekend. Mrs. Harry Dingman was in Campbellford Hospital with pneumonia last week. Mr. and Mrs. H. Ducie and Mrs. Nelson visited Mr. and. Mrs. Ivan Denike at Norham \ day last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McKague visited Mr. and Mrs. Art Ren-wick at Lang. J. C. Bowen and Mrs. Haynes. The community gave a shower for Mr. and Mrs. John Rutherford at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dingman, on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moore, Toronto, visited Mr. Eber Bush over the week-end. Mrs. Harry Dingman is a patient in Campbellford Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Begg spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Don Yule called on Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis May and boys visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry May on Saturday. Miss Reta Lisk, Mr. Clifford Bernard, Mr. Adrienne Bernard of Toronto were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Darling on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Flanders spent Sunday at the home of her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gardiner in Weston where twenty-five relatives and life-long neighbours and friends met to surprise Mrs. J. Archibald on her eighty-second birthday. The dining room was beautifully decorated with roses and mums and all enjoyed turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Mrs. Archibald is Mrs. Flanders mother. She received many gifts, cards and flowers and we join with her many friends in wishing her many more happy birthdays. Mr. Jim McKenzie of Toronto spent the week end at his home. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Unwin of Montreal, Mrs. Belle Armstrong of Dorval and Mrs. Allie Robertson of Cornwall visited at the home of his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Val Unwin on Monday. Mrs. Margaret Ament, Colborne is spending a few days with Mrs. Winnifred Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Peebles have returned from Cherry Valley and are spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Percy Smith, London. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pettibone accompanied them to London. We are sorry to report year -old Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Fiddick is patient in Cobourg District General Hospital. Her illness has not been diagnosed at time of writing. * Miss Jane Roddy, Peterborough spent the week end at her home. Recreation Committee meeting was held Wednesday evening of last week in Lakeport Elementary School. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hie and Mr. Donald Hie and children, Cobourg, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Memo and family, of Port Hope visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hall on Sunday. EDVILLE by Miss Nina Lacey Anniversary Services will be held at Sharon United Church next Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. The Potato Club achievement night was held at the board room in Brighton last Wednesday night and Carl Chatten received first prize on his potatoes and they are to be shown at the Winter Fair in Toronto. Miss Maude and Ray Hoare enjoyed a trip to the Seaway' on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lome McDon-d were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thorne at their cottage at Presqu'ile on Sunday.
