Your tires have the same trouble holding on to a slippery road. That's why careful drivers help protect themselves on slippery winter roads by reducing speed and leaving plenty of room to stop. They help protect themselves too by making sure they have adequate insurance coverage, in case they do get involved in an accident. CIA's automobile insurance can help you protect yourself. The price was not disclosed. Western Savings has more than 60,000 contract holders and its assets top $100,000,000. With its acquisition, the combined assets under the administration of Investors Syndicate now exceed $500,000,000. Western Savings will continue to operate independently and will retain its head office and sales organization. The above news item, copied from the Globe and Mail, will be of interest to a number of Colborne people. The Western Savings and Loan Corporation was founded in 1927 by W. S. R. Wilson. Walter, or Walt to his Colborne friends is the youngest son of the late G. E. R. Wilson who was a much respected resident of Colborne for many years. Walt got all his early education in the Colborne schools and then after taking his Arts course in Toronto, graduated Hi law in the West and practised in Edmonton for some time. He is another Colborne boy who has made a name for himself in Canadian Financial Circles and we are proud of him. On Saturday last he attended the funeral of his life-time friend, J. H. (Pat) Gale and acted as one of the Honourary Pall Bearers.
