V.TEAMISH Phones: Shop 159W -- Residence 159J MACARONI RING 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni hard-cooked eggs, chopped 2 tablespoons chopped pimiento i/i> cup diced green pepper 1 cup thinly sliced celery V* cup chopped sweet pickles 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion Vi lb. pasteurized process Cheddar cheese, diced Salt and pepper Y2 cup salad dressing Lettuce 2 hard-cooked eggs, sliced Combine the macaroni, chopped eggs, pimiento, green pepper, celery, pickles, onion and cheese. Season to taste. Add the salad dressing and toss lightly. Pack into a greased two-quart ring mold. Chill. Unmold on large chop plate. Fill the centre and surround the mold with lettuce. Garnish with egg slices. CHEESE BAKE Va cup finely chopped onion Vi cup chopped green pepper 2 tablespoons butter or margar ine 3 cups cooked rice Vi cup chopped parsley IV2 teaspoons salt - Dash of pepper 1 8-oz. pkg. old natural cheddar cheese, shredded 3 eggs, beaten % cup milk Saute the onion and green pepper in the butter or margarine. Combine with the rice, parsley, salt, pepper and cheese Mix lightly. Combine the eggs and milk and fold into the mixture. Pour into a 1%-qtfart greased baking dish, bake in a slow oven, 325 degrees, for one QUICK TRICKS Thin slices of avocado and grapefruit sections make a refreshing salad. Serve with French dressing. When serving broiled fish, add few slivers of almonds to the butter and brown for a minute • two. HOW TO ROAST HALF A TURKEY Wash half turkey and dry thoroughly. Sprinkle cavity with salt. Tie leg to tail. Skewer wing flat against breast. Fasten skin to breast meat along keel bone. Trim double thickness of waxed paper to the approximate size and shape of cut surface of bird and place on a rack in roaster. Mound the dressing on the waxed paper to fit cavity of bird. Place half turkey on top of dressing. Completely cover bird with cheesecloth dipped in melted fat and roast, according to time table, in an uncovered roaster. Add no water. If cheesecloth becomes dry, remoisten with drippings from pan or with additional fat. Eviscerated weight: 6V£> to 8 lbs., cook at 300 degrees F. for ZV2 to 4 hours; 8 to 11 lbs., cook at 300 degrees F. for 4 to 5 hours.
