Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stimers called on Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chapman in Edville on Tuesday evening. Glad to report Miss Debbie Trottman returned home from Belleville Hospital Wednesday. Mrs. Frank Dunnett and Mrs. Annie Down of Brighton called Mrs. Lawrence Chapman on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gooder- h and Muriel of Brighton called on Mr. Herb McDonald on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Geo. Walker of Castleton and Miss Nancy Westrope of Colborne called on him on Saturday. Mrs. Jack Chapman and infant daughter returned from Cobourg Hospital on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wright visited the Barnes Funeral Home in Colborne on Thursday evening to pay their respects to the late Walter Dale. Several from the neighbourhood attended the funeral on Friday. Mr. Leonard Chapman, Mrs. Kay Butt and daughters of Port Credit spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chapman and infant daughter spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack White, Willow-dale. Mrs. Chapman remained Mrs. Keith Stimers attended Community Womens Institute at the home of Mrs. George Armstrong in Edville on Wednesday. Mrs. Fred Pearson left on Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pearson in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Pear-n, Nancy and Dan attended Decoration Service at Vernon-Sunday and visited Mr. and Mrs. Donald Broomfield in Cobourg. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dunk and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Clare Campbell in Warkworth On Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Honey called on Mrs. Lorne Hutchinson and Mrs. Hutchinson, Sr. in Warkworth on Sunday evening. Rev. J. VanWalsem of Hilton christened Lorna Marie and Larry Douglas, children of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Jones, Oshawa, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lackey on Sunday afternoon. Pa'ul, Brian, Margaret and Ross Dickens of Colborne spent the week-end with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dunk. Mr. and Mrs. Dickens joined them for Sunday dinner and the children returned home with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Stimers of Cobourg called on Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stimers on Wednesday e LAKEPORT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH LADIES AID The regular meeting of the Ladies' Aid of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church was held at the home of Mrs. L. Tapley on Tuesday evening, June 6th. The President, Mrs. D. Peebles, opened the meeting, reading Scripture, Proverbs, chapter 24, verses 1-23, followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. M. Cherry, Secretary, and Mrs. R. Moore, Treasurer, gave the financial report. One thank-you ■ note was read. Discussions took place regarding several different matters. The President read a clipping which had been sent to her from a lady in Guelph, in regards to quilting and was most interesting. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction after which lunch was served by the hostess and Mrs. Cherry and a social half hour'spent. The next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Henry May, Tuesday evening, July 4th.
